Title: Helix 5 DI/GPS Transducers
Post by: moelkhuntr on August 04, 2017, 10:19:11 AM
I currently use a Helix 5 DI/GPS on front of my Blazer SS. I am using the supplied XNT 9 DI T transducer on the trolling motor with a shield on it. Would there be any advantage SWITCHING  to the XTM DI 25 T. I'm thinking they both have the same coverage and I am not having any interference issues.

The piezoes are the same in both  ...the housing is different  ...

The XTM 9 DI 25 T has extra shielding for possible interference issues  ...

Over time, as your TM brushes wear = this can eventually cause interference  ...

HB offers a xducer exchange program when the xducer is still new  ... Yours being used now would just incur cost of buying the XTM 9 DI 25 T for a future interference issue that may or may not ever occur  ...
------

There is advantage in upgrading to the XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T as this puck style xducer has 83kHz/60° and 200kHz/20° 2d beams (and extra shielding)  ...

Check your "Connected Transducer" Menu under the Sonar tab for a "HB + 83/200" selection to see if your unit will support the XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T  ...
