I just loaded the newest update into my 797. I can see some changes but I do not see the window for the down image. Has anyone seen this before? How can I fix this.

Did you check the View menu to see if it was there and not Hidden?
Did you cycle thru all the views with the View button?

I defaulted all settings before I did the update. Veiws I had hidden before was coming up after the update. But I didn't check past that. Do you think something is corrupt? If so How do I dump the old ?

Some things to check:
Did you do a default setting again after you did the download? You have to let the unit know it is not going to be downloading software any more. Some software releases have start and finish default settings included in them.
In the Set up menu, put the User Mode to Advanced.
Use the Views button and scroll thru ALL of the views until you get to the one you started with. Do that in the Simulator mode so you can tell if you see a new view.
Look at the Systems Status view from the start up menu to see if that software version is shown. If it is not, download the software again from Humminbird to your computer, put it on a SD card and load in the unit again. Don't just try to reload the software you alread have. Sometimes what you download via internet gets corrupted during the download process and the unit will not accept it.
There are several views with DI in combo with other views.
