Left Card slot problems ?
« on: August 25, 2014, 09:21:06 AM »
Hey guys,

So the left card slot in both of my units (859 & 1199) dont appear to operate correctly.  When I insert a card, there doesnt appear to be any type of a spring mechanism like i can feel when installing a card into the right slot.  The card in the left slot will pushes in to far.  To the extent that I feel like I need a tweezers to pull the card back out.  I have also noticed this in a friend of mines 1197 ?

Any thoughts ?

your water seal gasket is likely off center a bit - try using a small flat pc of plastic ( maybe a plastic butter knife broken off?)
or a tooth pic to push it a little bit one way or the other.....

The left card slot in my 1197 also seats deeper than the right...

But I can still feel the spring tension being compressed when inserting the left card...(albeit at a deeper depth than when the right card seats)...

Try what Robert above suggested...

If you still do not feel the spring being compressed and a definate click when the card seats ...call HB ...

Not sure I follow you as far as trying to seat the waterproof gasket?  Is this something inside of the slot, or on the inside of the door?

I see that my 1199 has a yellow rubber seal on the inside of the door that appears to seal the door when it closes, But my 859 does not have anything on the inside of door.  Should there also be a rubber seal on the 859 door?  If there is, where can I purchase one ?

Thanks

The 859 door contacts against a silicone pad on the head that has 2 slots in it where the cards go thru - if that is off center a bit the cards will bind. Use reading glasses if your sight's as bad as mine...lol
I like the yellow seal better - my 798 has that the other 2 don't. ;D

The different model units may have a different seal for the memory card doors.  The seal for the 998’s is under the bezel and is dark gray.  I can’t recall what the seal for the 859 and 1197 looks like.  All Robert was saying is that the seal may be misplaced just enough so that it is pressing against the SD card when it is inserted into the unit.

IF the seal is the same as my 899 it is a silicone pad the door presses against on the head, which being the same case size I would guess it is.

Yes, the 859 should be the same Robert.
All of the 8X9 or 9X9 units should have the same card door seal.
