New software: HumMapper. View your waypoints on Google Earth.

Hello to you All,

What is HumMapper? You can download your waypoints (in my case this is a 1197c SI) with HumminbirdPC. The resulting file is a GPX-file. HumMapper uses this GPX-file as input and show the waypoints on Google Earth.
And HumMapper is free.

You can download HumMapper from www.scubabase.eu

Important notice:
1)   Microsoft .NET Framework 4 has to be installed
2)   Of course Google Earth has to be installed

Instructions:
1)   Download HumMapper1.1.zip and save it at a location of choice.
2)   Unpack HumMapper1.1.zip to a dedicated directory/folder. Most often C:\Program Files is used for that purpose. Add to C:\Program Files a new map and call it HumMapper. So the unpack directory would become C:\Program Files\HumMapper.

Run HumMapper:
1)   All fields and buttons have tooltips that show specific information on how to use them or about their aim.
2)   Go to the application path C:\Program Files\HumMapper  and double click on the application. Open the File menu and select Open GPX-File. Navigate to the application directory C:\Program Files\HumMapper  and double click the example file UNIT_200815a_1.gpx. This will open the GPX file and read all waypoints stored in that file. The waypoints will appear in the Select From List. Now you can select the waypoints you want to see on Google Earth. The simplest way to do this is to press the Add all Waypoints button. As an alternative you can drag & drop waypoints into the Selected List or marking a single waypoint and apply the Add Waypoint button.  You have the same options for removing waypoints from the Selected List. When one or more waypoints are in the Selected List then press the Show GE Data button.
3)   A second way to start HumMapper is to include the GPX file in a shortcut. Create a HumMapper-shortcut on your desktop. Go to the properties and change the target field from
“C:\Program Files\HumMapper\HumMapper1.1.exe” into
“C:\Program Files\HumMapper\HumMapper1.1.exe” “C:\Program Files\HumMapper\UNIT_200815a.gpx”. Don’t forget the double quotes and a space between the application and the GPX file. Applying this shortcut will start HumMapper, load the GPX file and go to Google Earth immediately.
4)   Of course you can create a shortcut to simply start HumMapper without including a GPX file.

Future perspective:
HumMapper at its current state is an intermediate. The final release will have a database manager that when pressing a Google Earth pin point (which is one of your waypoints on Google Earth) a new window will open showing your waypoint details but allowing you additionally to save text data, illustrations/pictures, internet links, recorded media and so on, all related to that particular waypoint. HumMapper will become a total waypoint database.
First steps have already been taken to use Microsoft SQL Server as a database manager and with success. So it looks promising...

Greeting, Peter.
