Humviewer - How do you Zoom in on a spot
« on: May 22, 2012, 10:17:59 AM »
I select Utilities and Zoom, and it says to select the corner.
I've tried left clicking and right clicking, but nonthing happens.

Anybody know how to use the Zoom feature?
Thanks in Advance.

Change the view to show only the side image view. When I try with the regular sonar on the screen none of the utilities work.

I saw your post yesterday, but didn't have a recording here at work to trace the steps that I take.  I stop the recording, click utilities, zoom is the default choice, so I left click at the top left of my target object(s) then move my cursor the the lower right and left click again.  At this moment a rectangle/square will automatically form around your object using the two points on the screen you clicked on to form the opposing corners, and almost instantaneously another small window will pop up with your zoomed image.

@1kheneger, I have no issues whether I have a 2D sonar image on the screen or not zooming in on the SI screen, however, the zoom does not seem to function for me on down imaging images.

Just in case this point was lost in translation, I do not need to click and hold the left mouse button, just click, release, move cursor, and click again.   And another thing in case I wasn't clear enough, you do not need to select "Zoom" since it is the default selection, just click the Utilities and then click your two spots.  Actually selecting "Zoom" from the drop down menu does seem to confuse the program occasionally.

ETA: Fwiw, I find very little use for the zoom as the zoomed images are too grainy for me to make out any additional detail, but maybe these old eyes just need some new glasses.  ::)  I have found it much more helpful just to expand the screen size of the image you wish to see more clearly.  That seems to work better for me.

Hope this helps,

Mark
