Title: Helix 10 MSI+ G3N- will not power off (loop cycle)

just finished installation of new Helix 10 MSI+ G3N unit on the bow. 
upgraded latest OS software to V2.18

unit is powered directly to 12V main battery.
(both power and ground wires) 

weird problem - unit will not power off using the soft key (hold down button to power OFF).  the shutdown screen does appear, but then restarts to ON mode.  does this repeatedly forever.  only way to physically power OFF the unit is to unplug the main cable connector.   

unit still did this before upgrading the software (original out of box). 

anyone have any ideas on how to fix?

Try this  ...:

*Remove any map cards - test

*Export Nav data to a blank SD Card -  verify in HBPC that the Nav data is safely present
*Format Nav Directories under the Setup tab - test

just tried the procedure. 

no nav data to backup (new unit - shared waypoints on other Helix 12) 
menu...setup...reset nav directories...yes 

power OFF still doesn't work (does not physically power off). 
shut down screen appears, but then powers ON again.

You will need to call HB on the loop issue  ...
