360 on the Onix
« on: May 16, 2015, 06:19:34 PM »
Hey guys, Just a little help!!

I have 3 10" Onix 1 is an SI unit the other 2 are just combo's. I also have 360 on the trolling motor all hooked up with the ethernet switch.  All seems to be working fine, I was having issues with the 360 dropping off then coming back 40 minutes later then it would go out again. Today it went out and I found that this time it blew the fuse.

Any ideas?? All are brand new only used a couple of times.

        Thanks John

Wow 3 Onix's.
That's some baller stuff.
If something is blowing a fuse, then too much current is flowing through the electrical circuit.
This could be caused by a hot wire, grounding prematurely (a short).
I would check all wiring to the battery.
Look for any frayed wires, and/or loose connections.
Also, all connections to and from the switch.
Also is your 360 software up to date?
Wouldn't hurt to charge up your battery and get it load tested.
Intermittent electrical problems could point to a bad/failing battery.

First off do you have the newer network box, do you have the heading GPS that came with the 360 and have it selected rather than your internal GPS on the Onix and also do you have all of the Onix current software and the Onix 360 software installed?   I use a transom 360 and when I got the Onix, I had to install the Onix 360 software to replace the 1198 360 software.   I am not sure about your power cable for your 360 but I would check for a bad connection and shorted or frayed power wire.   It is not a lot of fun when new equipment doesn't work or breaks.    Maybe someone else will come up with some things to check also.

Mirroring Phil's question ...

Do you have the newer AS ETH 5PXG ...??

You might think about removing all the networking and run the 360 directly to 1 unit to eliminate variables for testing ...
