Question re: recording playback
« on: March 21, 2014, 11:50:02 PM »
I recently took my 1199 w/ 360 out ice fishing. I made about a dozen different recordings, not snapshots. I attempted to "playback" the recordings tonight, and am confused by what I'm seeing.

The 360 images do not show at all, and the SI and DI  only play until they cover about 1 1/4" on the screen, and then they freeze. The regular (multi colored) down sonar keeps going!!! It occurs every time on every recording playback, although sometimes the distance the SI and DI traverse does change slightly, but never more than half way across the screen.

Might any experts on here have some ideas why this may be occurring?

Also, is there any other way to "playback" recordings other than on the unit itself?

Thanks for any help you can offer!!

Ed

It is my understanding that the 360 data cannot be recorded because the 360 is considered an Ethernet accessory in the overall system....

Likewise if the unit was set to view SI and DI from the 360 piezo's ...those views would also be from an Ethernet accessory...

If you actually got the unit into the Recording function while the 360 was operating...I have no idea what data the unit would be trying to record...because I'm pretty sure the SI piezoes in the HDSI xducer are shut off when the 360 is operating...

You might be better viewing recording with Humviewer. This is a program written for HB recordings and works very well. Of course you must have a computer to do this.. Martin has spent a lot of time making the viewer a great tool. HB has no viewer other than the unit playback.
