3D maps - Navionics
« on: August 25, 2010, 10:18:38 PM »
I updated my 898 to the lastest software. First of all I want to say it tremendously helps in viewing the 3D maps that come with the Navionics Platinum card. You can see the 3D maps at different zoom levels.... but the screen is always moving back and forth. It won't say still to really get a good view of the 3D maps... Any ideas on this? With the screen jumping back and forth it is real hard to use these maps.

Thanks,

DoubleG

I am having the same problem with my 3D Platinum Map. Did you ever determine a fix or setting change? Thanks

My two GPS receivers are mounted high on my t top, when I have the setting at "course up" it jumps around and spins at lower speeds. To solve this I changed it to "north up" this keeps the screen from making you sick and dizzy...thats what worked for me

GPS has a hard time syncing in at craw slow speed or stopped.  When you select north up the map is fixed on the unit and does not move around with the boat position.  When you select course up the gps is trying to sync in and since it cant...... it rotate the boat (icon) around which results in the screen spinning or turning as GPS trys to find which way you are headed...
