Title: 999ci si hd NMEA 2000 Black Box and Ray Marine AutoPilot not communicating GPS
Post by: pat.gearhart@icloud.com on July 15, 2016, 02:14:47 PM
I have the 999SI HD and wanted to use its built in GPS for my brand new EV200 Ray Marine AutoPilot.   Upon googling I found that I had to purchase a NMEA2000 black box in order to communicate over the backbone.   My 999ci can see the Ray Marine pieces but no GPS signal is being transmitted from the 999si to the AutoPilot.   We tested backbone by plugging in a RayMarine GPS/Sonar unit and it worked immediately.   When we go thru the 999si to NMEA2000 black box the RayMarine Unit cannot see the GPS.  This prevents any tracking or built in fishing patterns due to no gps signal.   Phone support was pretty useless other than they say "It should work plug and play" whereas another response to one of the threads here state the NMEA 2000 blackbox handles traffic only inward (one-way).  The installer stated it is bi-directional not one-way so here I sit :'(
I hate to switch out to a RayMarine GPS and spend another $800 since the 999ci is not cheap but I may have no option.   Does anyone on here know what the issue may be and how to correct this?
