I notice that the new 1158 and 958 humminbirds have down imaging. Is there a chance that an update will come out with this for the older models? I know I will have to buy a new transducer but man that would be awesome.

I'm not sure about that but many others know. I guess that all old SI - models has that feature after a newer update. I have it on my 997 c SI.

I have not heard the official word on this yet but my guess would be “No”.  The circuitry in the 858c, 958c and 1158c units may not be able to support the DI transducer and sonar.

BTW: the new DI models are 858c DI Combo, 958c DI Combo, and 1158c DI Combo
