back up info to sd keep getting failed statement on 998
« on: March 25, 2011, 03:16:18 AM »
Been trying to backup my waypoints to sd card everytime I try to export it comes with the message that it has failed. Am I doing something wrong I switched to both slots and still no luck.  I have a 1 mb card built in maps and I am interlinked to another chartplotter. Tried to get waypoints from the chartplotter 785ci and the same thing happened. thought it might be card but it reads fine on my home computer and HB software. Help me please!

Unhook your  interlink and try export all navigational data. Gary

If this is a map card it may be write proptected.  If this is a standard sd card make sure the little white switch is not in the protect position.
Try Gary's idea aslo.
and let us know...

Chuck is correct.  You do not want to export to the map card.  It could also corrupt the data on the card.

You will need a blank SD card.

This is not a map card it is a 1 g sd that I have used to backup my waypoints in the past. In fact I down loaded  the info into another hb just before I tried to download all my info from the 998.  Why would I have to unhook the inter link?

I would try formatting the memory card and trying again.
If that does not work, try a new memory card.
