Title: 3 Transducer Installation
Post by: George on July 08, 2009, 07:21:21 PM
Here are some pics of my 16' boat converted from 5 bench seats to a mini bass boat, it has served me well for the past 7 years

Installed a QuadraBeam on the Trolling Motor and on the Port Side with the Side Imaging on the Starboard Side Using 2 switches.

Switch #1 A => Trolling Motor Center => 1197 Unit B=> Switch B

Switch #2 A => QuadraBeam Port Side Center => Switch A B => Side Imaging

The plastic the switches are attached to was cut on a bandsaw and bent with hot air, the plastic was clamped between to pieces of wood to make straight bends. The plastic was oversize then bent then cut to size.

Pic # 1 is QuadraBeam on the Trolling Motor Transducer

Pic # 2 is the boat from the rear, all of the the transducers wiring is on the port side.  The forward battery is for the trolling motor only. The Trolling Motor foot pedal pan is a great improvement, easier to use and reduces the pressure on my hips

Pic # 3 is the 2 HB A/B switches, I numbered all of the wires then set it up so the switches worked the way I wanted them to work, I did have to move the connections around until I got it right.

Pic # 4 are the 2 transducers Port side is the QB and the Starboard side is the SI Transducer.  I use the Q/B when fishing and SI when looking for structure. When fishing, the unit is set up for the Quadra Beams, Switch 1-A is for the trolling motor, Switch 2-A Transom Port side QuadraBeam. Then only have to move Switch #1 between A & B.

Pic # 5 shows the choke HB supplied to reduce the noise.  Before installing the choke I was getting noise back through the system even though the power for the 1197 is coming from the stern outboard motor battery.

George,

Are the pcts too big?  Do you know how to reduce the file size in an image editor?  Let me know if you need some help.
