I almost ordered one from TheDigitalOasis.com when I decided to dig a bit into their reputation and I found that the Better Business Bureau has given them a rating of "F":

I decided to go with "Universal Mania" which cost about the same as TDO but they were given an A- rating by BBB. I'll post back after I get the unit, hopefully all goes well.

I have just purchased a 798ci si at a great price and they have been more than helpfull and great to deal with. Arrived here in Aus. quickly and would buy from them again no problems. :)

I've bought from Digital Oasis a couple times, and it went well. Accessories only, though.
I did spend $2500 at www.imarineusa.com (http://www.imarineusa.com), and was very impressed with their service and prices. A person called with each shipment to let me know it was going out the door.

Newbie on this forum. Ordered 998C SI from Universal Mania last week and unit was delivered in two days, though I did not ask for express shipping due to having a separate order from another vendor for a Navionics Platinum card. I was extremely skeptical of their pricing and thought it might be a bait-and-switch gimmick, but not only was the unit delivered as advertised, UM also had very respectable customer reviews for their company. $1617 delivered to the door. Hope this helps you folks out in some small way.

If you are looking for a system for use in Australia, you need to be aware that U.S. units are much cheaper, but do not covert to the metric and I believe there are mapping issues as well as a few other issues. So before you make your purchase you may want to discuss the issues with others using U.S. purchased units in their country, there aare several on this forum so I hope they will help you.
I think there may be an issue with warranty and repair services. You may save some money but in the long run it could cost you more.

guys i'm still buying from this guy , and for me are all international custom delivery, all of them was fine , on time and well packed, price are the most cheapest that i can find, i'm using ebay to buy from this guy to get the Ebay buyer protection....so that the purcase is pretty exspensive....over all , from my opinion end exsperience i can say....well raccomended

I bought my 1198 and all accessories from factory outlet store 2 seasons ago, and it was one of the smoothest transactions ive had from a online company. They get a bad BBB rating too but I don't know why. I also had to return a product and it went smooth as well. and just bought my furuno gps unit from them last Monday and received it Wednesday.

I just bought my 898hd from them and it came quickly in excellent shape. Best part is that for an ebay store they have a physical address and phone number so you can call if you had to. Be very confident buying from this place.

My dad just bought an 899ci HD SI from The Digital Oasis for $857.58 and it went fast and smooth. They currently have a B rating from the BBB.
Despite this order going well when I order mine I think I will call a guy one of the other members posted about.

I have purchased units and accessories from Digital Oasis AND Universal Mania. Both delivered sealed, factory fresh equipment that was well packaged and with quick delivery to my door. No complaints.
