Title: 1199 GPS
Post by: sonar2000 on March 16, 2014, 01:15:02 PM
Am I seeing this correctly?  Is the 1199 internal GPS only?

YES, you are seeing that correct. You can purchase an external, which is an accessory now, at additional cost.

Hmmmmmm..thanks Ruff.  Is it special or will the current 1197/1198 pucks going to work? Thinking of an 1199 but not if it wont do what the 97/98 did..

Chuck

The GPS connection on the back of the 1199 looks the same as on my 998.

I went with the 1199 for the bow to go along with a 998 I already have there but I have the Heading Sensor puck installed which is new. Not sure if older 1197, 1198 GPS pucks will work with the new 1199. If you do not have the HS puck it would be a great addition at the bow. I love mine!

This is the info Doug has given..

QUOTE...in part:

The ONIX Series will feature a 48 Channel just like the AS GRP and AS GPS HS Receivers.

Plus the Internal Receiver in the 9 Series models 859, 899, 959, 999, 1159 and 1199 is a 56 Channel Receiver

Plus the 300 and 600 Series feature the same Internal 56 Channel Receiver.

UNQUOTE

I'm pretty sure the older AS GRP and the ASGR 50 and the AS GPS HS antenna can be used on the new xx9 series...

I know the ION and ONIX heading sensor antenna is different from the AS GPS HS antenna...

I do not know if the AS GRP or the ASGR 50 can be used on the ONIX or ION...

Thanks, Ricki... I may hold off for a bit longer and see just where in technology I really need to go. I was hoping HB might fit in but do have some reservations and questions right now.  I wish the 1198 would stay around for a while.. Although there are several issues with it too..

The same GPS Receivers that worked with the 1197 and 1198 units will also work with the 1199 units.
