Another transducer question
« on: March 16, 2014, 11:23:11 AM »
Yesterday I was fishing in my party barge and suddenly noticed it was drifting near a clay bank.  By time I could get back there and push away that expensive 789ci si transducer was banging against the bank.  Didn't do any damage this time but made me very nervous.

If I move that unit to in front of the motor and get another transducer for the "high speed" (relative term for barge) to mount on the "toon" which would be a good choice for an inexpensive 200/83 khz down looking one in a transom mount?   I would use a splitter to connect the two.  Also what splitter would work with that combo?

Don't want to have that argument with the wife after destroying a $200+ transducer.

The XNT 9 20 is a transom mount 83kHz/200kHz Dual beam...

The AS SIDB Y is the cable you would need to allow the 83kHz/200kHz Dual Beam to obtain 2d readings ...and allows the HDSI xducer to be mounted in a safer place on the vessel...

There are no menu selections to change in the unit with this setup because the AS SIDB Y cable is basically a "channel"splitter that disconnects the 2d piezo from the HDSI and routes the 2d "channel" to the 83kHz/200kHz Dual Beam xducer instead...(the unit "sees" this as 1 xducer)..

Rickie,
Many thanks. This is exactly what I needed.
