Topic: NMEA 2000 and radar

I havent been on in awhile, looked on HB site for information on the: radar-network hub-NMEA 2000 link and found nothing. But, if I go online I can see part numbers and pricing for all of them. Also checked HB site for updated software for my 1198cSI and 89cSI to use the radar and such and nothing.

Anyone have any insight on when an update will be available or why the main HB site has no info on the 2012 new hardware or software?.....Thanks in advance

I don't think the Humminbird site ever has information of when software updates
will be coming out.   At least, I haven't ever seen any.

I believe you are right ITG.....
.If a person registers his/her unit they Might get a notice of upgrade. 
But that may be for select products.  I have not ever gotten a notice for my 1197 and there have been two upgrades...This might take a call to customer service periodically....

thanks guys, I do get email notifications of software....I find it odd that you can buy the radar and new items for 2012 online from retailers other then HB, but HB has no information on their site.....I was wondering where to get more info and installation docs on these items....I like to look at them before purchase to get a game plan on install...

That is weird that the hardware is not anywhere on the HB site.

I think they are behind with their web page updates.

Thats probably it....Hope they have them on there soon so we can look at the install docs they usually have for other items....Im rebuilding a 256CSS Dusky and am ready to pull the trigger on electronics and the radar will fit perfectly on the fiberglass hard top I glassed up....I'll be using my 1198 and 898 on both boats for now till I buy new head units for the larger boat....Started a company Epic Marine and have been building fuel tanks-hard tops-engine brackets and hard top aluminum frames...Should chime in here more often to keep up to date with the HB stuff and see if any users have installed the new radar and NMEA backbones...

I have not heard when the radar or NMEA2K accessory will start shipping and nothing about new software yet.

Typically the web site trails behind the release of new products…

I believe that we have been shipping at least one of the radar models for a few weeks now.
