Topic: CannonLink not Working with 1198

I have 2 Mag 20 DT hooked up through my CannonLink that previously worked on my 1197 but will not work on my 1198.  It gives me the check connections terminal etc... message.  I have tried to eliminated one or the other with the downriggers and no go.  any other things to try?

I have a 1197 with cannonlink and 4 mag 20's. I find the system to be very finicky. it will be working fine and drop for no reason,most of the time I can get it back by wiggling the cable connections on the down riggers or removing the terminator for a few seconds and replacing. the cable connections on the down riggers are a poor design,imo, I have been tempted to remove the factory plugs and hard wire them. it all does work well on occasion,but if you have to spin a down rigger to reset, it will loose connection. I improved it some,by using cable ties and tying the down rigger cables to the rod holder so they are less apt to move or disconnect. Good Luck.

Try Alibib.com for waterprof plugs. these work well. Roddy

Try for snap or twist lock connectors...
You need to be fishing not connecting plugs....
