hello fishy
i send you a record with many significant interesting targets.
the data of the file displayed by the viewer "sonarwave lite" are :
- pings : 2814
- samples : 4206
- range : 39,96 m this is the range of each side
- duration : 4’39”
if a ping is one emission of acoustic wave and all the pings generated during the way of the boat create an image of the bottom, the pings frequency is 2814 / 4'39" = 10 Hz
if the samples are the echoes periodically recorded, the resolution is 2 x 39,96 x 100 / 4206 = 1,9 cm (4206 is for one side only)
And as 2 x 39,96 m is travelled by the sound at 1500 m/s, in 53 ms the sampling period should be 0,053 / 4206 = 12,6 micro" and the sampling frequency 79 kHz
you could check the number of ping and samples get by the code.
i don't know anything about coding and i have not any idea how to do.
i suppose that your code is able to extract data like the travel time and the intensity of each sampled echoe, this for each ping an each side.
if your work can be shared i'm very interest to know how to implement the code
.
then the objective could be to display the records with 1 px = 1 sample, of course impossible on a 1920 px wide pc screen and 4206 samples and for one side only, but possible with zooms.
will it be better than the displays of deepview FV, the best i found ? i don't know, but it can be checked to sleep quiet
