Topic: New Helix 10" DI Mega Imaging + and MK Ulterra w/Mega DI?

With the Nov. 2018 release of HB Helix Chirp and Mega Imaging +, I was wondering if this would be compatible with the MK Ulterra TM with Mega Down Imaging transducer? I am looking to outfit my new Lund 1875 Impact with HB Helix 12 Chirp Mega Imaging+ at console, HB Helix 10 Chirp Mega Imaging + at bow, with MK Ulterra TM w/Mega Imaging transducer built into TM head. I hope to link all 3 for ease of communication- let me know what other components, cables I would need.

Connecting the built in MEGA DI Minn Kota xducer would replace the stock MEGA + xducer from one of the units - not "add to" the number of xducers in the Setup  ...

Also  ... the Minn Kota built in xducer is MEGA DI - not the newest MEGA DI +  ...

If you want networking (sharing waypoints, accessories, sonar data) between the head units you will need Ethernet adapter cables for each bead unit  ...

HB networking allows connecting 2 Ethernet devices (head units in your case)  ... If you add any more Ethernet devices (head units, Minn Kota iLink, 360) you will also need the AS ETH 5XPG Ethernet expander switch  ...

Rickie- Thanks for the information on linking the 2 HB Helix units. Do you know if the MK Ulterra Will come out with built-in Mega Down Imaging + transducer? Otherwise, looks like I will need to pass on the Helix MDI Plus graphs. Thanks - Dave

Here is the response from Minn Kota service tech (Eric) who confirmed that the new HB Mega Down Imaging Plus units are compatible with Minn Kota Ulterra DI transducers:

“If in the product description is states "MEGA" anywhere, the MEGA DI transducer will be compatible. It is also compatible with some other Humminbirds as well. I have also included a link below to a section of our website for you to see the fish finders that are compatible and where there is a little more info.”
