1197 update

Trying to update my friends 1197 from 4.070 to 5.320 I put the update on sd card restored factory defaults put card in unit nothing happens. Then I  formatted the card put a new update on the card same thing the unit
does not see or recognizes the card any ideas.  Thanks Gary

Gary,

Make sure the file is not in a folder.  It has to be in the root directory. 

Also, try the other SD card slot and see if it recognizes it.

Make sure you have the correct file.  Do you have another unit in your Humminbird account?  If so, the files are different and cannot be used on different units.

If none of those work, try another SD card.

Other than that, I am stumped!

Robert I am using the update from my account that I put on my 997
Will that work OK. Tried other card reader did not help. The update
is in a folder on my desktop but i open the folder and drag it to the card
yes I have 1198,997,797  I will get another card tomorrow Gary

No, the update for the 997 will not work.  Each unit has its own update.  Even though the version number may be the same, the updates cannot be used between different model units.   The 1197 will not recognise the update for the 997.

You will need to download the 5.320 for the 1197.  Just register his unit on your account and the update will show up.  Its ok if you register it, they do not check duplicate serials.

If not, I need to upload it here on the forum anyway.

I do alot of updates for my friends, and have about 4 1197s to update.  Is the new version available yet for an 1197, and if so, when do you think you will post it?

Robert you were right HB sight with the 1197 serial # got the right

Greg I don't believe Reddog has a 1197 he was asking when Robert was going to post the new updates for the 1197 on the Forum board so he could
update his friends 1197"S from there.   Gary   PS got my unit back Thanks
