Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has had an issue getting the nut on the ethernet cable threaded onto an 1197. The cable fit my 998 just fine but seems like the nut is a hair to small for the 1197. The wire connection seems just fine.
Any thoughts are appreciated!!

Kevin,
I have not experienced what you are describing on my 1198, but the nuts on the two cables I use are both a closer fit that seems like they need to be. I thread them on but do not tighten them and have had them seem like they snug up with a change in temperature. Perhaps the clearances are tight and you just got the outlier that is out of spec (either plug or recepticle)?

I do have a second cable so I'll see if it has the same issue. Thanks.

Tried the second cable. Same problem. Sure going to bite if I have to send the unit in for repair just to get the correct plug on my unit.

That's what it sounds like you will have to do Kevin. Give the Customer Resource folks at Humminbird a call about this.

It's on it's way to the Service Department.

Just a follow-up to my issue. Repair shop said nothing was wrong. They returned with a 10' cable. That cable fit fine. Went back to my cables and found the yellow insert which the pins sit in were just a little off center. Took a metal file and removed some of the plastic. Kept on until now I can hand tighten the cable nuts.
