SI cables
« on: February 08, 2011, 05:35:59 PM »
How do we go about finding a cable supplierfor the HDSI cable....HB will not give us the inofrmation. (they say it is proprietarty)

For you guys building the towfish where do we get xx (in our case 60 feet) feet/meter of the correct impedence matched cable so that our local electronics company can cut and mate (waterproof) a section into the existing trandsucer?

I cant believe this is such a secret......

Chuck,

The cable they are using does not have the capabilitites to give good results at this length.  Thats why we can only get somewhat decent results using the HB extension cables.

Others on the forum have used CAT5/6 or other low-impedance cable.  And HB has done the same in testing the longer cables they have talked about producing.  As for which cable they plan on using, I am sure I can ask around.  ;D
