Question Fall All Humminbird Side Image Owners
« on: August 03, 2011, 06:06:50 PM »
Folks....I wanted to pass along to you what Idea I came up with and sent to Humminbird/Johnson Outdoors Inc.  I am on the Regional/Field Pro Staff and thought that some type of outer protective cover needs to be made for our Humminbird units..especially the Side Image units.  My idea is a Neoprene type cover that will slip over your mounted Humminbird Electronics ( Side Image ) while mounted to the mounts and RAM Mounts.  This could also act as a protective cover and carrying type deal when you do remove from your baot for winter storage or simply transporting anywhere when not mounted to your boat.  I told the folks at Humminbird that as much money as we all spend on these very nice units, most of us would be willing to buy one of these with a decent cost added of $25 to possibly up to $100 each.   These covers are to protect from road grime, rocks, oil, water, bugs or anything else that might impact the back of these units.  Just thought I would let you know...maybe it will get somewhere or maybe not.  I'm not smart enough to design such a thing but maybe someone else is.  What is your thoughts on my idea ?

+1 Sound like a good idea to me.....don't think I would pay $100 for one though.
**Looking for the one that makes it all worthwhile**

+2 .........Great idea and if HB will come thru for less than $50 USD then they might win also.  We do need protective covers (to see thru) so lets keep our fingers crossed....

Like I said...this is just a idea I have passed along and will have to wait and see.    As for the price, anything below $100 for a $3000 investment isn't that bad.  I think anything from $30 to $60 is fair.  We will have to wait and see if this gets anywhere.  For anyone who wants to follow up and help pass the idea along...please do so.

This is what I'm kinda talking about.  Nice deal there buddy.  It wouldn't take much and something could be designed that is black with the Humminbird logo and neoprene/weather proof type material.  Time, time , time and maybe someday we will have something.

Nice idea.
It would have to be pretty tough stuff to protect the unit from a rock.

For me, I probably wouldn't buy/use one.
More stuff to take off and put back on.
