Snapshot during a recording
« on: February 03, 2010, 08:14:21 AM »
I made a 20 minute recording in Simulator Mode on my 1197....

I noticed that when I hit the "Mark" button during that recording that a waypoint was, indeed, created.....

But, there was no snapshot recorded at the same time....

I checked to make sure my "Snapshot" feature was turned on..and it is...

I changed to a few other "Views" and hit the "Mark" button again....

Still creates waypoints...but no snapshot...

Is it possible to create a snapshot while in the "Recording" mode...??

No, since the unit is constantly writing to the SD card during recording, it cannot take away to write snapshot.

You can only take snapshots in live mode when not recording or during playback of a recording.

It would be nice if Humminbird figured out a way to fix this.  Maybe buffer to the unit?

Thanks, Robert...I'm just trying to figure out what this unit will and will not do.....( as you can tell from my posts all over this forum...)

And when it will not "do" something...I want to know that is the way it's supposed be and not some technical glitch in my unit....
