Title: Old unit 987C SI
Post by: maxfli on December 19, 2010, 01:26:54 AM: I would like to know if anyone out there can tell me if my 987C SI will accept and use the XHS-9-HDSI-180-T ttansducer, and if so can my unit be upgraded to utilize the 800 KHZ frequency?

Post by: Humminbird_Greg on December 20, 2010, 09:03:03 AM: There is no way to upgrade your 987 to be able to use the 800kHz Si sonar frequency maxfli.
If you were to use the XHS-9-HDSi-180-T transducer with your 987 you would only be able to use the 455kHz Si frequency and the 200kHz 2D sonar frequency.

It would be very nice if there was a trade up program.
Car dealers do that and people take advantage of the trade in program.
I would thin the same on sonar units would be in order.
