Can you use 360 bowmount to get di from onix?
« on: November 26, 2014, 07:23:52 PM »
I am an early purchaser of an onix 10si. I also have a bowmount 360. When i first got the 360, I was disappointed that I could not use the 360 to get di images per hb. Is this still the case? Has anyone actually been able to get di images with the 360, as opposed to reading hb literature and claims which often are wildly inaccurate. I am disappointed that although hb advertised a trolling motor mount di transducer in their 2014 catalog for the onix, it is still not available. Thanks, John

HMMM...I don't have the Onix, but I think I have seen posts from Kosmo where he used his  360 connected via Onix to get DI.
He checks in here once in a while.  If not bump this thread and I will try to contact him on another forum.

There may be other who can help also.

I had two 998s and transom mount 360, linked via 5 port ethernet switch.i had an option in network view to use 360 in di/so mold.
I now have an onix 10 , with the transom mount 360 hooked straight to the onix .I have not seen an option to use the 360 in di/si mold.

I believe that you should be able to do this but will see if I can find someone with screen snapshots of this.

Here's a picture were i circled an area, that I believe should have an option to use 360 in si/did mold.as you can see, there's nothing there.to the left of the circled area, there's 360+si.i don't no what that's for. (The si part)

kosmo, you are 100% correct.  Since the 360 Imaging accessories do not have a dedicated DI piezo within them and since the ONIX units do not have the programming to do the Si to Di sonar conversion; there is no way to get DI sonar from only the 360 Imaging accessory.

Ways that this can be done would be to either connect a dedicated ONIX DI transducer to the ONIX unit (when they become available) or connect one of the 2D/DI/Si ONIX Si transducers (like the XT-14-20-HDSi-T) to the ONIX unit.  Of course if you were to Ethernet connect this ONIX unit to another ONIX that has DI sonar (or to one of the appropriate Sonar Modules) you could also share it with the first ONIX unit.
