One last check before I buy the 898c si
« on: December 15, 2010, 07:34:14 PM »
Before I pull the trigger I want to verify what equipment is needed vs what is in the box.  Do I need extra equipment for side imaging, transducer, or  the screen mount.  Is all this in the box.  I just don't want to be surprised.

Is EVERYTHING in the box or are there extra pruchased I need to make?

Thanks

I think it's all there. What price are you paying? I'm  Seeing more 898si going for around $1000-1299 I'm gonna wait till after christmas to see if they come down even more ;D I think they will been watching them a long time and I think when the new batch comes out next month you should see a price drop

Amazon is $1330-1350.

$1280 at the link above is the best I can fine.  I'm a little nervous about using a website I've never heard of though.  Where are you looking?

nextag and the humminbird factory outlet. The hbfo has them for 1299 which is a great price and reliable. i found a couple on ebay that are a little cheaper but with the outlet you know it new and good units.

Don't trust extremenavigatin.com
I did a web search for it and saw that the domain name is for sale.

Buyer Beware

I purchased an 898c SI 2 weeks ago from www.UniversalMania.com for $1215.51. I just checked and they are still advertising for this price. I could not find it cheaper anywhere. They will call you before they ship and ask for the last 4 digits of your debit/credit card, but I found this to be reassuring. I received my unit in 3 days.

That's strange indeed Wayne.

Extremenavigation is spelt different. It's got an "E" up front, but if I type "xtremenavigation.com", I cannot get the website called up.

On the other hand, if I follow the link above, I get the site displayed and the website looks quite OK......

Not sure what I should think about it, but if I would order there I would call them first to see what's going on.
