If you have a map card in the unit ... It should automatically choose the map card for the chart views...

If you have 2 map cards in the unit ...

*Press Menu twice to get into the main tabbed menu ...
*Cursor over to the Chart Tab ...
*Cursor down to "Chart Select" ...
*Choose Left or Right slot ...

If the unit has 2 map cards inserted and the Chart Select menu is set to "Auto" ... I think it defaults to the right card slot ...

The unit can only display data from 1 map card at a time ...

I can't think of any scenario one would want 2 SD Cards (non-map) in the unit at the same time...but the unit can still be "Forced" to use the Left of Right card slot with the sequence above...

I have one lakemaster card and a navionics card.  It seems to only find the lakemaster no matter which slot its in.  Is that something due to lakemaster being owned by humminbird

I used to have to manually select the HotMaps USA I had in a Lowrance LMS332c - which had a single card slot - I think it's a Navionics thing, usually the HB software is made for ease of use. If you set the slot to the Navionics you should be fine - but I also have an older HotMaps & the built in Contour XD on my 798ciSI and that card didn't get along to swell - I think the machine thought the data was the same.... and for the most part it was with the exception of Hi Def maps.
I have 2 LakeMaster's now and every once in a while I think of a Navionics, and then I think ....maybe not....lol

beertech,
Will your unit recognize and use the Navionics map card data if you take the LakeMaster card out and restart the unit?

If it was June - I would doubt it.
My 899 was built in Nov. 2013 and I picked that up in April from a seller that's close to the "pipe".
Never know - only 2 ways to find out, status screen or 3rd selection on boot. ;)

I doubt that you are either beertech.  We stopped making the 1198 units as it was replaced by the 1999 model and the last software release for the 1198 was in May-June of this year.  So unless you or the seller updated the software than you are running an older version.  Try updating the software to see if it helps or not.
