Title: Uploading data to memory card
Post by: N9Phil on April 28, 2013, 11:13:40 PM
I have had my new 1198 C SI out for the second time today and I am unable to get my data to transfer to my card.   I do not have th Export all data  listed in the Navigation menus.   I can get my picture files to go to the card and I can see them on the computer.  The humminbird PC program can not download anything.   As far as I know I have everything set up correctly. I can see the routes on the 1198 but I can't get them to my card.

Are there any suggestions that I might try?

Thanks in advance,
Phil

Your 1198 must be running the waypoint management software.  This was added after the manuals were made, so your manual does not show the menu changes.  Try going here and downloading the Waypoint Management Guide and look on page 33:
http://forums.sideimagingsoft.com/index.php?action=downloads;cat=24 (http://forums.sideimagingsoft.com/index.php?action=downloads;cat=24)

Basically you need to go to the Waypoints, Routes, tracks menu and:
 - Select: Options
 - Select: Select All and…
 - Select: Export
 - Confirm your selection

This will download the Nav Data (Waypoints, Rotes and Tracks) to your memory card so that HumminbirdPC can in turn download them into your computer.

Thanks for the info Greg.  I have downloaded the file and will print it out and study the info and then try again.  I will post later after I get it working.

It worked. :) :) :)  Thanks a lot Greg.  With that info I was able to get my info onto my card in the 1198 and onto my computer.   Now I can play with it and see if I can get it to work in Dr Depth.  One of my next things will be to get i pilot link and install it into my i pilot.  Technology is great once you get it figured out and it works.

Thanks again,

Phil
