Title: Why Reset to Defaults before updating?

I'm new to humminbird...1199 and Onix10...and really hate to lose all my settings ever time a new update comes out. I know that I can save my Onix menu setting to a SD card and then reinstall but is there a way to preserve my menu settings on the 1199..shorty of taking pics of all the menu screens?

I think you got the correct answer on the other forum...... It would be nice if there was a way to export the settings on the core units.
