737: No depth reading in files
« on: June 04, 2012, 08:31:34 AM »
Hi,

Got a little big problem. Did a survey for a tidal river using a 737 unit. Saved recordings to a SD card, no wanting to grapple with a lot of wires logging NMEA sentences to a laptop. Used Hummviewer to see the recordings ( in color! that's nice), then export them to CSV format.

On loading the records, Hummviewer already complained that no depth files and possible corruption. I proceeded exporting the recordings anyways, and confirmed that the GPS tracks lines pretty nicely in aerial images. No depth data, although recordings show sonar readings.

I am currently trying to see if I can get any depth readings using the SON2XTF -> csv.  Will try if SiView works. (although that microsoft net framework thing is causing Wine not to run SiView under my Linux pc).

You guys have any other ideas? The next high tide that coincides with working hours is about a week away. Can't bear the thought having to unload the boat and go through another grilling good time surveying under the tropical sun!
