Title: Want to buy 360 bow and have 2 x 997 and want to upgrade

Who can give advise?? I have two 997 with interlink and want to get 360 Bow whats the best way forward? I know I need to upgrade the 997's but to what? The if i wanted to keep one 997 can i link it to the 998/1198 via interlink and still have 360..?Needhelp

I don't think you can do interlink and Ethernet at the same time.  Kind of a tough senario when you need to replace both units.

You cannot Ethernet and InterLink on the same unit at the same time.
For the 360 Imaging to be shared between two units they each have to be Ethernet capable and will all have to be connected with a 5-Port Ethernet Switch (AS-ETH-5PXG).

Hey Greg
I was not wanting to see the 360 Deg on the console unit only the bow mount one! But i did still want them to link way-points only?? Can that be done?

No it cannot.  The 997 units only connection to another unit is through the InterLink accessory.  The InterLink automatically gets disconnected whenever you connect up an Ethernet capable accessory (like the 360 Imaging) to a unit.  So it’s either the share waypoints between the 997 unit and another unit (which you have now) of get an Ethernet capable unit and not be able to share waypoints.

The only way to accomplish what you want would be to buy two new Ethernet capable units and the 5-Port Ethernet Switch.

If you are still in the need of advise, I just went through the same thing only with a 997 and an 1197. I sold the 997 and went through hell and back trying to find an 1198 that wasn't $2500. I found one for $1977 on line new in the box. Trust me you will NOT want to have 360 with out an 1198 or 1199. I was then hoping the interlink would still share way points! Nope. I then ohad to buy the Ethernet switch and luckily the 1197 was Ethernet capable. If I was to do it all over I probably would have purchased the 1199 since I had to get the Ethernet switch anyway. I went with the 1198 in hopes the interlink would still work knowing that it would not with the 1199. Sorry but you will have to bite the bullet and get two new units. If you are a tournament fisherman or really serious it is SO worth the investment. Good luck!

The 360 won't work with any of the '7' models anyway, no
matter how it's hooked up.  It's not compatible.
