Got the new Platinum Navionics card that you can update for
« on: August 24, 2013, 07:52:07 PM »
a year with Freshest Data. Well I updated my card and now the card is very slow to load and when it loads I don't have contour lines anymore  :( Does anyone know if I can restore the card or is it fried ? I have read where looks like I may have a corrupted downloaded file

Navionics Support told me if I updated my Navionics Platinum SD-card(8GB) to Navionics Platinum+ via online that after verifying my existing Platinum that the update should inform me to mail that SD-card in so I would receive a newer 16GB card.  But I have not upgraded yet.

I would call Navionics.

You might simply attempt another Freshest Data Update.

Navionics had me delete only the map files once and perform a Freshest Update to completely reload all the maps.  But you have to only delete the correct files.  My procedures might be outdated.

Make sure you have Spot Soundings option set to ON.

Also with Navionics maps:
<menu><menu>, select Chart Tab, set Chart Detail Level = Custom.
Then select Custom Chart Layers, set Nature Of Seabed = ON.

Nature Of Seabed options will be only one set to OFF, and on my Navionics maps the colored areas of forest timber and colored river channels would be display.  This was on Lake Fork, TX.

Little Gazoo, wanted to update you on my problem with the platinum card. I called Navionics today and after a 25 min wait I got Scott on the line. I had already deleted all the files that were not on the original card when I got it and did a completely new "freshest data" update. Scott told me that is what I should do and then put in my 998 and see if that fixed it. Well it appears that it did, seems like I missed unchecking the "Community Edits" which are the "UGC files" and Scott said that might be part of the problem since it had been noted that those files have corrupted some Humminbirds in the past.

thanks for you help
