New waypoints put on SD card ?
« on: March 06, 2015, 11:14:55 AM »
I would like to know why new waypoints show up as Matrix on my SD card, even though I down loaded them from  Humminbird PC ? Humminbird PC will not let me put them in the Waypoint section on my SD card! Is it OK to put this SD card in my 597ci HD DI Combo unit without it hurting the unit & the Matrix waypoints show up? Just trying to learn how!
 Thanks!

Welcome to the Humminbird Side imaging Forums Fish2Day.

I am assuming that you are meaning the Matrix folder on your SD card.  This folder is automatically set up by either your unit or HumminbirdPC.  Its where they both look for your waypoint data.  Matrix was the first product series that we made that also used HumminbirdPC and that you could upload/download waypoints from, so they kept the Matrix folder name.

If you install the SD card into your 597ci HD DI unit it should load all non-duplicate waypoints.

A duplicate waypoint is one that has the same name and coordinates.  Two that have the same coordinates (or name, but not both) are considered separate waypoints and both will be loaded.  So, you have to watch renaming your waypoints without deleting the original.

Thanks Greg! HumminbirdPC put the Matrix folder on the SD card cause I already had a Waypoints folder on it. It just surprised me that it didn't go ahead & put them in Waypoints. Also that you couldn't edit them into the folder.
Thanks for taking your time to respond! Fish2Day
