Chuck,
If a waypoint is corrupted, it will load it back in and freeze up the system again.
What you asked for isn't enough in my opinion.

I think we need an item to delete ALL NAV data from the system.
Add a warning that if the data is not backed up to an SD card, that
it will be lost forever.

Exactly ITG...if a waypoint corrupts the unit then "reset" and dont load the sd card..fix the sd card externally on a pc.
dont keep freezing the unit...

Yes,
But the waypoints are stored in the unit on the hard drive/flash drive
until they are deleted by the user.
Most likely, they are loaded into memory everytime a system re-boots.

I don't think doing a reset will accomplish much if a corrupted waypoint is loaded back
into memory again from the unit.  It would freeze up the system again and again.

It would only be a last ditch effort to try something before having to send a unit back to Humminbird.  Would have to use the feature very rarely, I would expect.

Yes, that is what I am saying.....reset the unit hard drive locations..   do not load any waypoints, or information from the sd until the sd is cleaned....

I wish it was like a computer where we could write zeros in all positions then boot strap in a code to load the operating code for what ever release we decided.....

after all this is really a computer...........
