Yes indeed.  I have been in contact with several builders for just such a device.  Extra features built in (a wish list) would be a two way conversation so that programing the unit to record and stop, along with other menue items would  be available.  I do see a great product as it is.
Timo or Kimi, add to this if you can....

Hi Chuck

This is on my projects list.

I will use a WIFI router with high power and one small netbook as controller.

Specification
1. 500 meters range
2. 2 webcams (one to see HB screen and other to see the boat view)
3. 1 or 2 7A battery
4. Everything inside one dry-box

One PC software will control motors and can view the webcam images.

This is the plan, but I donīt know when I will have time to work on. :)

Hi,

why not use the video out of the humminbird with a wifi-extender for the signal - you will get a far better image than the one with a webcam.

Hello Plastikboot

Is a good idea, but not for me now.

Iīm programmer and last month I needed to make one program that take webcam snapshots and record it.

So I can use this software (or part of it) in new project.

With your idea the image will be better.  Thanks

Bruno

Yes indeed. You can control your remote control boat through wifi and you can also get pics or live stream for that you have to write a program which will support the hardware.

Sid
