Title: AutoChart Ethernet connection Problem
Post by: palajam on January 09, 2015, 08:57:56 AM
I am using Windows 8 and AutoChart. When I connect the Ethernet I get "out of memory" message and AutoChart stops working. I have restored my 898c SI to factory default as per setup instructions. I have also allow Autocrat through the windows firewall, both public and private. Any help please

Ok I figured it out. The internal map size that I was using 7000x7000 was too large. By reducing it to 6000x6000 problem solved. Its a pity that Hummingbird don't caution this in their manual.

Good to know.  In general, they leave a lot to be desired out of their manuals, and they lack quite a bit of info.  It's mostly left up to us to figure out all the little issues, which is too bad.  It's a great product, just wish there was more information about everything in it.

Anyways, are you getting set up to do live mapping on your computer?  If so, please let me know how it goes.  I'm interested in trying it this summer if you have good experiences with it.

Thanks!

I have been using Auto Chart Pro for about a month to make my own charts on 898cx SI. I live in Ireland and previously used Dr Depth. I found that the zero lines charts that came with Auto Chart Pro were very poor and inaccurate. Luckily I had made my own Zero line charts in Dr Depth. I was able to import them into Auto Chart. The user manual could do with some work! Some of the setup chapters are not very clear but I was able to resolve any issues with Hummingbird support.I must compliment the support team. Any questions asked were answered. I find Auto Chart to be very good otherwise.
