Title: Mapping with 200 Khz and Dr.Depth
Post by: DiveExplorer on June 18, 2014, 11:02:40 AM
Have you ever mapped a lake or something else using only 200 Khz.

My sonar seems not have 83 khz but 200/455/ and 800 Khz. I was wondering if that would be a problem as 200 khz cone is smaller than 83 khz.

Which Humminbird model unit do you have DiveExplorer?
It sounds like you have one of the DI models with those frequency selections.

Hi DiveExplorer

You can also work with the other frequencies, but among them may suffer accuracy because DrDepth emanating from a recording at 200kHz.
I myself have created a map with the 800kHz sidecan information.

Thank you for the reply Rüdiger.

I was just concerned that I bought a wrong sonar to use for mapping. I thought 581i HD had 83 Khz also.

If  i can use 200 Khz for both mapping depth and hardness than it would be enough. I was thinking that using only 200 khz it would cover a lot less area than 83 khz.
