Title: Help with Interlink - New User!
Post by: mn_bowhunter on May 06, 2015, 11:34:58 AM
I just wired up my new to me 898c on my bow with dedicated power to the battery. My 997c at the console also has dedicated power to the battery. I picked up a used Interlink because I wanted to have the option to share waypoints or transducers if need be.

With the cords I was given with the interlink, I was given a standard Humminbird Y Cable NEMA/ACCY-COM cable and a single longer COM cord. (I'll have to double check all these cords) I had another Humminbird Y Cable with my 898c since I was only using the DI/SI transducer on the TM and no standard puck. So here's what I did; Ran the long COM cable from the Interlink in slot 2 to the splitter at the 898C to hook into the COM port along with the GPS antenna. Slot 1 had to plug in splitter to allow COM cable to go to 997C, and join into the splitter before the unit so the GPS antenna could be joined. So 2 splitters have plugs in them where their ports aren't being used in the system.

Power on, Interlink not detected on 997c, but detected with 898c.  Restored defaultson 997c and still no luck.  Do I need to get a different cord to run to the 997c at console?

I talked to Humminbird customer service. They told me I should take the GPS cable from the 997c (at the console) and plug that into the Interlink. Both units have external GPS receivers, the 898c is at the bow. Does this sound correct?

I'm sure someone with Interlink experience will be along ...
