YellowFin error
« on: February 24, 2011, 10:56:06 PM »
I have been using HumViewer and have no problem with it but I wanted to try the YellowFin so I downloaded it. I ordered the cables I think I need from HB and it is still telling me No Connection. Anbody able to help me with this? The cables I ordered were the  kit that came with the aux. power supply and I think it is an ethernet cable (has a serial port  on one end and an  NMEA-COM plug on other end).

I am just trying to use it as a SI recordings viewer. I went to another YellowFin website last night called Imagenex.com and it is something totally different, starting to wonder if I have the wrong YellowFin software downloaded. Does anyone have a link to the correct software so I can make sure I have the correct program installed?

LMH Steel,

YellowFin cannot be used to record from Humminbird.  Back when HB first started recording SI we wanted a viewer so we could play back the Sonar Recordings on the computer.  There were very few FREE viewers out there.  I was able to build a program called HBSI Converter that converts the HB Sonar files into the YellowFin .872 format.  The files could then be played back in the YellowFin software.

Currently there is no software out there that will record the Hb files in real time.
