Interlink problem
« on: March 02, 2011, 07:53:07 PM »
Have a 997 & 958 w/ interlink and have downloaded the new software. It disconnects and connects about every 2 minutes. I don't think that is normal but don't know. Other than that everything is perfect.

I have the same problem some days. I was told that there is a new update coming shortly that will connect the two units with an ethernet cable instead of using the interlink box. Should be in the next week or two.

The 997 is not ethernet capable so Interlink is the only way to connect it.

My 997 would lose connection when it was the #1 unit. I changed it to #2 with my 858 on #1 and everything works fine. I'm using 4.995 BETA software on both units.

The 997 is not Ethernet capable even if it had the software to be (which it does not and will not get) because it does not have an Ethernet connection.  The 998 does but not the 997.  So InterLink is the only way to go.  Call the Humminbird Customer Resource folks about getting the 4.995 software for both of your units.
