xducer identification
« on: September 15, 2021, 07:14:43 PM »
First time posting. I just bought a boat and it came with a 797 c2i, I have 2 xducers mounted on the boat that need to be remounted. The 797 is suppose to have side imaging with an optional xducer, but no SI screen, as I said I have 2, one is longer than the other, the long one is at the mount at the console, the shorter ones cable runs to the front of the boat where another sonar mount is but not in the mount. The longer xducer has a 5 pin connector and the shorter xducer has a 7 pin connector. I'm wondering if the smaller xducer is my SI xducer, can't see any part #'s on them. attaching pics for ID Any help would be greatly appreciated

The xducer on the left is the XNT 9 SI 180 T (stock for the 797 SI units and some other SI models)  ... 2d/SI/Temp

The xducer on the right looks like the XNT 9 20 T (stock for many models of HB 2d Sonar or 2d Sonar/GPS units)  ... 2d/temp

The number of pins is actually irrelevant because some pins may or may not be used depending on which connector the manufacturer had while building the xducer. It’s called a number 9 connector but it may have 2, 5, 6, or 7 pins. If the manufacturer was building 2d xducers - they could still use the number 9 connector with 7 pins and just not connect 5 of the pins  ...

Thank you sir I appreciate the education, good to know the part #'s of my xducers. The side image transducer is the one connected to my 797 but when I go into screen views (visible, hidden) there is no screen for SI. I know I have to go deep into the manual (downloaded) to see if I'm missing something. or do you have a quick answer for me? bad xducer maybe. Again, thank you so much, I really appreciate the reply.
