waypoints on SD card
« on: April 03, 2010, 09:26:45 AM »
 I have waypoints on a SD card identical to what is already in the depth finder and interlink system what will happen when I insert the card? Will it add the waypoints so that I end up with two of every waypoint, which I don't want? Another question, if I want to delete the waypoints on my SD card, in which folder -Matrix, Record, Snapshot, Profile - are they stored? Thanks for any help.

Hi Rocket,

the Nav Data is stored in the Matrix folder.

Record --> Recordings
Snapshot --> Snapshots
Profile --> Unit information

Rocketman,
As long as those waypoints on the SD card have the same name, icon and coordinates the unit will tell that XX waypoints are found but that there is no new Nav Data and not load them again.  Now if you happen to have named them… the unit considers them as new and different waypoints and so will load them into the unit.

I've been working with Humminbird PC and have added dozens of waypoints into it then saved them to an SD card.  Nothing happens when I insert the card into the unit though.  What steps am I missing?

How did you “save” them to the SD card?
If you used the “Save as…” function than you saved a *.gpx file to the SD card which the unit cannot use.  You have to use the “Upload” function to the SD card so that HumminbirdPC will convert the data to our *.HWR format, make the correct file structure on the SD card and also name the file correctly (DATA.HWR).

You're right on the money!!  Thanks for the help.
