Title: Pairing a Core Unit with a Non-Mega Chirp Transducer
Post by: Swann on September 05, 2022, 01:35:32 PM
Hello Everyone,
PLS 4give me IF I should have thought my last query through a little more B4 posting BUT I think this 1 might be a little more relevant to the Community with all the New Transducers and Model Numbers coming out on the market as this here is another scenario I was wrapping my head around which I believe "should be" possible:
Can a Non-Chirp Head Unit (ie:Any of the Core Units) use a Chirp Transducer (Non-Mega) IF one were 2attempt 2use an XNT9 HWT where the XNT9 20T can be applied and then 2take things a step further would be the XNT9 HW SI 180T where the XNT9 SI 180T (Compact) would be applied?
IF so, is there some sort of difference in the construction/configuration of the internal Piezo Stones to allow this? and lastly, since a Chirp Transducer is "more capable" than a Non-Chirp Transducer, would this result in a slight overall improvement for the Core Unit as well by coupling it with a Chirp (Non-Mega) Transducer?
Thanks,
Sandro

It is not recommended to use a HW transducer on any unit that transmits 83kHz  ...
