Title: GPS location not right on maps
Post by: kawirider on April 30, 2013, 11:51:29 PM
Hey everyone, so today was my first time out with the new 998c si. wow what an awesome purchase!

only problem i was having was they gps was saying i was about 50 yards or so to the right of my actual location.
example, i parked at the end of a small island, and look on the gps and it show me about 50 yards to the right.

ive read on here that other people have experienced this, i tried looking for those threads again buy just couldnt find any.

any help on how to get my gps set straight?
thanks,
David

Under your Chart menu, make sure the
Set Map Offset is set to No.

See that your GPS is working properly by looking
at the GPS diagnostic screen.  The error shouldn't
more than 3 feet or so.

If the above are Ok, then contact the producer
of your map card and let them know there is
a problem.  I understand that Navionics makes
thousands of changes to their maps each year
because of position errors.
