Lost the Link Functions.
« on: February 24, 2016, 07:39:21 PM »
Ulterra linked with a 5 port hub to an 1198csi and a 998csi Lake Master chips ver #5
LINK_CONTROLLER_V2150
LINK_REMOTE_v2040
998cSI_v7_670
1198_v7_670.

The above was what I updated in Oct before my trip to the Lake of the Woods in the 3rd week. I believe there is a malfunction in the down load cause it will not recognize the follow feature. I've tried to reload the software and it will not except because it says it is already there. I've tried to load the previous software and it will not allow me (I've never been to "back load" the previous version) I hear of people saying to "go back to the previous version". I wish someone would give me a how to tutorial because I cannot get my units to do so! There were following issues on the previous ver and this update was supposed to clear it up.

If I remember right a "sharing Linked system" when updated needs to be powered up w/ the TM but only allowing one Bird at a time to be powered doing the update. I must have done something out of sequence cause it did not work last fall on my last trip of my year before winter storage.

Looking to get this sorted out and get the pricey system back to working per design.

Appreciate the help!

I don't know much about the Terrova stuff ...

I did find this ...

http://www.humminbird.com/WorkArea/DownloadAsset.aspx?id=7141

HB will help you with this ... (even with giving you older software if downgrading is necessary) ...

Denny, The only thing I can suggest is get your version numbers off the system.(system status screens) and on the remote there is a menu item in the remote that shows you what is actually in the remote. Beyond that I would get Humminbird involved for reloading your entire system. The will probably have you go back to the previous update then install all the new updates again. Also make sure you follow the exact instructions on loading. Good luck. Bob

Bob and Rickie,
Thank you for responding.

Going back to the previous software version is the very topic that I have been unable to do and ask for guidance for.
I have used a formatted card with either the previous version or the current version on it, but only one never anymore that the one. I stated in the above what is loaded into my units and I verified it. Neither of my Birds will allow me to backtrack or reload to what is states that in in there. I believe my software is somehow corrupted as it is missing the "Link" functions. I-Pilot seems to be there as I can spot lock. Just no follow the conture feature after the HB 7.670 6-22-2015 update. I had it on the very previous software ver 7.510 2-24-2015

I have stored on my computer all previous versions for posterity and for who knows why, LOL. Each is in a file under it's own product category. (Joking here, does anyone need a peculiar software version for even a 987csi? I got them still I believe)

I'm trying to resolve this my self as apposed to spending hours on the phone in my boat (after she comes home from the winters nap). Then if I still have exhausted all other means, Get on the Horn to HB.

I'm understanding you now have 7.670 on the units ...

Am I'm also understanding that the units will not revert back to 7.510 ...??

Rickie,
As I know from my end of year notes before they were put to bed so to speak, that is correct. Please refer to my orgional post as to the software that was on the units at the end of year 2015. Because I'm running a 36 volt system and I leave the batteries in the boat during winter storage, (not close to me by a far) But ALL electronics reside in my temp controlled dwelling, it is hard to work on this now.
With that said, I'm trying to get my mind back around this so I may hit the soft water fishing ground running!

Does this help you?

Denny, The ipilot link will do all the functions except follow the contour while offline. Including spotlock. Did you look at the system info screens and did you see the ipilot link say connected? It will also show the ipilot controllers update #. If the software numbers match what you have posted it should work. If you are not"connected" on ethernet it could be a loose ethernet connector or power to the ethernet switch is not on. Good luck when the water thaws! Bob
