Title: Edit .ht files?
Post by: Team CTM on May 12, 2013, 02:00:29 AM
When exporting tracks to HumminbirdPC I can se all coordinates and depths of the track, one for each row. But if i would like to edit the track and remove some rows, how do I do that, is it possible?

Old post, but found it by accident and unanswered.  So here goes:

Each .HT file is a individual Track.  One .HT file = one track.
Each row of latitude/longitude coordinates is a track-point.
You are wishing to edit a track.

Several program exist that can edit Tracks, some are ExpertGPS & ReefMaster.
I have more experience with RM:
Just import the track asset, then add the track and create a User Map.
Then just drag&drop or delete track-points.
Then write track out to an new Humminbird .HT file.

or
Use HBPC to display track in Google Earth and use GE to modify the track.
Right-click the track, select properties(and leave Properties Box open), then move or delete track-points.
Save as a .KML file, then use GpsBabel to convert to .GPX, .USR or .HT file.

And there are sure to be more ways. . .

Now if this track is composed of multiple track-segments, then still possible, but complications arise.
