Onix 10 Troubleshooting
« on: April 06, 2019, 07:48:15 PM »
First, I apologize if I should be posting this somewhere else... The other sections of the forums (The Onix ones in particular) seemed pretty dead.

I bought a new boat recently that came with two Onix 10 units. One on the bow, one console. The bow one is not a touch screen, the console one has a touch screen. There is an ethernet hub as well which appears to have both units, the terrova, and the 360 ducer hooked into it.  I'm not too knowledgeable on how everything works yet, but I assumed it worked for the previous owner so I have not messed with any of the rigging aside from unplugging cords from the back of either unit.

My console Onix locks up whenever I try and turn it on. However, if I remove the ethernet cord it will power on just fine.  I thought it might be because they had never been updated, so I took the time to update both units to v3.300. Same problem with the console unit after updating. I restored factory settings as well with no change.

If anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate the help

You might try resetting the ip addresses  ...

1.  Power both units on and give them several minutes to completely boot up  ...
2.  Disconnect the ethernet cable and then reset defaults on each unit  ...
3.  Turn the units off  ...
4.  Power the units back on and let them completely boot up ...
5.  Reset defaults and then turn the units off again  ...
6.  While power is off, reconnect ethernet cable(s)  ...
7.  Power on primary unit and let it completely boot up before powering on the next unit  ...

Thanks.

I did all that and it seems to turn on fine now. I tried 3 times on and off and it never hung up like it was.

Now I have problems with networking. My console unit doesn't detect anything. My bow unit will connect with the i pilot but neither have the option for the 360 ducer anymore.

Is there a good guide somewhere I can look at to get networking setup properly?
