Hi,

I have a Helix 9 Chirp Mega DI GPS G3N and I intend to buy a Helix 7 Mega DI GPS G3N, which I would use mainly to display the position, so only as a GPS.
I want to connect the device to a network. In Helix 9 I have an Autochart Live. Will the data from the Autochart (which is as stated in Helix 9) also be visible on Helix 7?
What data can be shared between devices?
Which cable is needed to connect 2 devices?

Mapping of any kind cannot be shared between HELIX units  ...

It is possible to copy your AutoChart data to another Zero Line card to use in another unit  ...post that question in the AutoChart subforum here  ...

To connect 2 HELIX units for sharing waypoints and Sonar you will need 2 AS EC QDE adapter cables

So it won’t be possible to see Autochart maps on Helix 7. Unfortunately, Helix7 only has one card slot.

One more question. Is it possible to read the length of the stored track or the length of the route we traveled (in miles)?

The only way to see your (HELIX 9 created) AutoChart mapping on the HELIX 7 is to download the AutoChart data from the HELIX 9 to a Zero Line card and then you have 2 options  ...

1. Simply stick the Zero Line card into the HELIX 7 and the 7 will read and display it  ...
2. Copy the AutoChart data from one Zero Line card to another Zero Line card to have the AutoChart data available for both units  ...

To see distance traveled in a track  ...

*Change display under the Setup tab from “Overlays” to “Boxes”
*Then Change one of the boxes to Triplog in “Digital Readouts” under the Setup tab  ...

This week I’m going to the sea and trying out track length settings.

As for Autochart on Helix 7 ... if I want to insert Zero lIne in 7 I have to throw out Navionics ... and then I'm out of navigation maps  , or?

Correct  ... HELIX 7 only has one card slot so you would have to remove your map card to insert a Zero Line card  ...
